Description |
Project Gasbuggy was carried out by Lawrence Radiation Laboratory and the El Paso Natural Gas Company, with funding from the Atomic Energy Commission. The Plowshare Program's Gasbuggy experiment was near the Jicarilla Apache land close to Dulce, New Mexico. On Dec. 10, 1967, a device was detonated at a depth of 4,240 feet and succeeded in releasing additional natural gas through fracturing of the surrounding rock. |
